WHY PARTICIPATE IN A RED FOX CREATIVE CHALLENGE?

Sometimes creativity and mindfulness can seem out of reach.  In light of that, we are starting a series of creativity and mindfulness challenges to assist our Red Fox peeps to be more mindful and creative.

HOW TO DO A RED FOX CREATIVE CHALLENGE

🧡 Read this blog post! (Success! Already! Congratulate yourself! Seriously! You have already started and it is awesome!)

🧡 You do not have to do the challenges list in the order they are written.

🧡 We include creativity challenges as well as mindful

🧡 This doesn't have to use up tons of time. 5-30 minutes...whatever time you can spare.

🧡 Some of the creativity challenges suggest mediums but use whatever you have.

🧡 Post photos of your creativity and mindfulness on Instagram using #redfoxcreativechallenge AND #redfoxmindfulchallenge

WAYS TO EXPRESS YOURSELF:

  • Visual Art

  • Creative writing (journaling, post-it notes, memos on your phone, ETC)

  • Music (listening to or relating to)

  • Voice/Singing/Poetry

  • Movement

MEDIUMS YOU CAN USE:

  • Pencil

  • Pen

  • Crayons

  • Pencil crayons

  • Markers

  • Paint

  • Camera phone

  • Magazines and glue

 

 


SEPTEMBER CREATIVE CHALLENGE TASKS:

  1. Draw something in your cupboard with your non dominant hand

  2. Go to your desk and pick out the first thing your hand touches.
    Create something inspired by that.

  3. Create something inspired by your favourite place.
    Is your favourite place somewhere exotic or close like your backyard, or a reading chair.  

  4. Close your eyes. Take three deep breaths. Allow your body to find it’s natural rhythm and breath. Inhale and exhale slowly.
    IMAGINE: What colour is your day today? Put that colour on paper.

  5. Grab a friend and recreate a beautiful moment from both of your summers. Let it be simple: grab some paper and crayons.

  6. Create something inspired by your favourite fruit.

  7. Create something from your last memorable dream (writing, sketching, painting, just a few words, etc). Literally or figuratively. You decide.

  8. Choose a medium you have never tried before. Use it! (Psst...We recommend the locally owned Framemaster's Gallery for all your art supplies!)

  9. Smile at someone today! Write about how it made you feel.

  10. Close your eyes. Take three deep breaths. Allow your body to find it’s natural rhythm and breath. Inhale and exhale slowly.
    IMAGINE: A time when you were brave. Put that moment on paper.
