WHY PARTICIPATE IN A RED FOX CREATIVE CHALLENGE?

Sometimes creativity and mindfulness can seem out of reach. In light of that, we are starting a series of creativity and mindfulness challenges to assist our Red Fox peeps to be more mindful and creative.

HOW TO DO A RED FOX CREATIVE CHALLENGE

🧡 Read this blog post! (Success! Already! Congratulate yourself! Seriously! You have already started and it is awesome!)

🧡 You do not have to do the challenges list in the order they are written.

🧡 We include creativity challenges as well as mindful

🧡 This doesn't have to use up tons of time. 5-30 minutes...whatever time you can spare.

🧡 Some of the creativity challenges suggest mediums but use whatever you have.

WAYS TO EXPRESS YOURSELF:

  • Visual Art

  • Creative writing (journaling, post-it notes, memos on your phone, ETC)

  • Music (listening to or relating to)

  • Voice/Singing/Poetry

  • Movement

MEDIUMS YOU CAN USE:

  • Pencil

  • Pen

  • Crayons

  • Pencil crayons

  • Markers

  • Paint

  • Camera phone

  • Magazines and glue

 

 


OCTOBER CREATIVE CHALLENGE TASKS:

  1. Create something with the colour orange

  2. Sit in nature and create with found objects

  3. Collect leaves on a short walk (or long if your prefer...). Use them as inspiration to create something.

  4. Carve a gourd or pumpkin

  5. Create a rubbing. Using crayon lying flat (on it's side and paper), lay paper over texture and rub the crayon across the paper. See how many textures you can find.

  6. Walk in nature. Be mindful. Be present. Nothing else matters right now. This walk is just for you. Breathe and appreciate the sights. Create a drawing or a collage inspired by this mindful moment.

  7. Capture a moment with the people you love... or just experience a moment and feel the joy. Journal about your gratefulness later.

  8. Create a picture of your favourite food

  9. Three, one minute sketches of three different things you see in the room you are currently in. (3 quick sketches in total)

  10. Go to the closest window and look outside, take four square breathes. 
    How to take square breathes: inhale for the count of four, hold for the count of four, exhale for the count of four, wait four seconds before inhaling again.
