The ART+SOUL retreat focuses on the art of creation to allow you to let go of your life's stressors for a weekend, and get in touch with your creative side. This retreat will feature a variety of media that will encourage you to learn the basics through a collection of creative workshops. Kristin offers creative lessons that will be a balm for the soul as you lean into the fear of letting go of expectations and allow your painting to evolve based on pure emotion. It's a chance to let your gut, heart, and soul guide you without the need for discipline or thought.

4 workshops in one great weekend
Gentle guidance to embrace new techniques
Experimenting with oodles of professional art supplies; Akua printmaking inks, Impossible Project Poloroid film, watercolour and pencil, collage materials; thread, paper, and a plethora of odds and ends
All skill levels welcome, as there is absolutely no pressure to create a masterpiece
We will explore simple tetra pack printmaking, collograph printmaking, poloroid emulsion transfers from digital images, and we will play with mixed media collage
Free time to explore the new concepts you learn
Light Snacks, Coffee, Tea, and Water throughout your day
Saturday lunch: Assortment of subs, pop/water, mini bags of chips and muffins
Laughter and new friends with similar interests

Supplies (must bring)
Reference photos on plain printer paper
Small photos that are printed on printer paper. 4x6 or 5x7 inches are best
Please bring at least 2 images that do not contain a lot of detail. We will use these to create our printing plates. I will have some generic references on hand.Digital photos on your phone
Please select 5 of your favourite photos (square image format) from your phone photos
Put your 5 favourite images in an album/collection on your phone. We will use these to make transfers
Additional supplies (optional).
Collage supplies
You are welcome to bring small odds and ends that interest you. Example: lace a couple inches, buttons, small bits of paper. I will have some small things on handMixed Media Supplies
You are welcome to bring pencil crayons and watercolours wit brushes and a water container if you have them. I will have some things on hand
Saturday Class starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm
Sunday Class starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm
If you would like to socialize with the group after hours on Saturday evening, you are invited to dine with the workshop hosts at the Paris Cafe.
Please note that Saturday lunch is the only meal included in the workshop cost and accommodations are in addition to the workshop price.
